Am afraid the $100 and change I paid Pepboys to charge R-134a to the compressor I replaced is down the drain. The car is 94 cs NA. This is a replacement AC compressor I bought last winter because the original was making a noise. As the weather got warmer, the noise disappeared so I just let it slip. I replaced the compressor about a month ago when the serpentine belt broke. It clipped a wire on the compressor.
IMO Pepboys are irresponsible. They detected no power was going to the compressor and yet they proceeded to evacuate the system and recharge. Is that even possible?
The weather is getting cool so I am not yet pressed to find out why no power is going to the unit. But help is appreciated.
