It's actually not that much waork relatively speaking, : Your have to take care of the mounts, the top ones are obvious, there is one on the transmission corner, one in the other front corner, uder the water pump, one in the back of the engine prettu much in the middle and that is that with the mounts. You will also have to remove the alternator as it will interfere with the inside fender well, The power steerin will have to come off because it will stay in the car. Also remove the battery casing. Unhook the main harness in the back of the engine. Once the engine is out you will then unhook the transmission from the engine. The other car though you will probably have to do from the bottom for you will only want to drop the tranny out of that one and replace it right? The subframe will have to come from what I've read on the BB, never done it myself. Good luck.
P.S. Don't forget to drop the exhaust too, probably easiest at the 3 studs by the O2 sensor if yours is a turbo, oh yeah you will have to remove the radiator.
