The 91-92 being bad is what I picked up reading this board.
So if the 93 have soft or hard sprockets, I can't say.
On the other hand, 94 and up NG900 is where I have seen A LOT of bad balance chain sprockets. So with that in mind I don't really know if the "early 9000 balance failure" is for real or if it's a much bigger problem spanning many more years and maybe being related to bad maintenance.
I have seen quite a few early 90s 9000 and no problems with balance chains.
