If your emulation program is compatible, it shouldn't need anything additional.
The file extension .UMF you mention is for the images, and is proprietory for the program.
The database is written in MsAccess, but I do not have the program on any of my PC's, so it uses a run-time version. It' s certainly not necessary to have it installed.
What it probably does need is Ms Internet explorer 5 or higher. That's also on the disk in compressed format. Win98 has IE5 as a default (which got MS a nice court case if you remember), but I'm not sure about your Win98 emulator. That's where the problem might be.
It just runs on any bare Win98 installation, and cf. the install instructions also on a UNIX server.
The program is really worth some trouble. The catalog is nicely supported by exploded views per part category, and uses switchable filters for MY and version, all the way down to VIN.
Good luck,
Jan Geert
