Rating Doing The Chains -- Time and Effort?

Having now completed a replacement of all motor mounts, all front suspension stuff other than struts and strut bearings, I'm mentally preparing for the next big project: Doing the timing and balance shaft chains. They're making SOME noise, and I'm nervous to wait TOO long.
The questions:
-- How much time will this take me? A full weekend? Seven days?
-- How physically challenging is this job? Doing the motor mounts and control arms was a bear of a job, because I was working underneath the car with minimal leverage, dealing with seized nuts and bolts.
-- What other work should I do in conjunction with this project? (Head gasket is relatively new, so I don't plan on doing that.)
-- Where is the best writeup on doing this procedure?
Thanks for your help!
