Indeed there's basically two different TB models:
non-tcs has a 'passive' sensor for the position of the throttle butterfly. Uses a 3-pin connector; Butterfly moved by a conventional cable;
TCS cars are drive-by-wire and the TB is 'active' so the butterfly is moved by a small moter based on the position of the pedal pot. 7-pin connector.
Both are usually referred to as the Throttle position sensor (TPS) . On a TCS car you CANNOT change is as such. just the whole ETB.
This ETB part should cost in the 700-800 usd region from Saab when new, nowhere near the price you mention, but as you will have read already, you cannot put it in without first resetting the system ecu and calibration afterwards. I'm afraid you need the dealer
Why are you so sure the ETB is the problem??
BTW you have a strange LHM on your car. In LHM the cruise doesn't work at all (because it uses the drive by wire), as well as the AC (car would stall), and I can tell you, 'hesitating' is not the word in real LHM. Actually, you would be dusted by a Yugo, if the car wouldn't have stalled already.
Yours seems driveable. Are you sure this isn't something else, like DI or a vacuum leak?
Good luck,
Jan Geert
