Yes, but TCS isn't as dead as you think

If the ABS light is on, then the ABS is deactivated. The ABS system has detected a fault in the ABS during self test.

If you start the car, and just sit there, not driving off, and the ABS light is still on, then you've probably harmed the ABS sensor cable. The ABS system checks the impedance (resistance) of all four sensors. If any one is out, then it disables the ABS and turns on the light. This can happen if the wire is damaged.

If the light doesn't come on until you drive off, then it's still probably an ABS sensor, not wire, problem. The other test the ABS does is to compare the speeds of the various sensors. The ABS knows if the brakes are on; if they're off, and one wheel doesn't appear to be going the same speed as the others, it'll assume a bad sensor. This could be from moving the sensor, or clogging of the pickup wheel teeth with metallic junk, or damage to the face of the sensor.

And no, you haven't disabled the TCS, or at least not in the way you think. The TCS controls the throttle (throttle only on auto tranny cars, throttle and brakes on manual tranny cars). TCS-equipped cars are basically Drive-By-Wire - the throttle has an electric motor, and when you press the accelerator, it has sensors that talk to the TCS box, and the TCS box controls the throttle.

As a safety measure, if the TCS thinks there is a sensor problem with this throttle loop, it drops into Limp Home mode. The idea is that it's safer to drop into limp home, than to have a fault and command full throttle.

The electronic throttle is still working, and the TCS can still drop into Limp Home. You won't have the Traction Control feature, because the TCS doesn't have any wheel speed inputs. Well, yes, it has 3 others, but it won't trust them. But you can still drop into Limp Home.

Now, if you just wanted to disable TCS so you could do wheel spins, then you're OK to do so.
