I dont have any real validation except that most of what i know i learned from reading the factory trionic manuals. I've never owned any saab newer than a c900, so im no new-gen or 9000 expert, but from what i understand all Trionic 5.5 ECU's (94+) are identical except for the programming that is flashed into them. Meaning that if you have a box sent out for reprogramming there is a chance that they could flash a non-tcs program into it. However, you would still need to change some wiring and add a few components like AIC and TPS (and the throttle body of course). There may be some other major issues that i am not aware of because i only considered trionic for a 1976 99 16v turbo project i am working on which of course wont have AC, or ABS or a whole host of other systems that communicate with Trionic in later cars. I did contact maptun about having a 93 9000 5.2 trionic box "un-tcs'd" and reprogrammed for more boost and they didnt say no about the TCS, but they were concerned that the fuel maps for a 2.3 9000 wouldnt match up well with my 2.0, they told me it would be best if i could bring the car to their shop... unfortunatly thats a long way from Pa.
