Do not retorque head bolts at this stage...

I've heard both recommendations for and against retorquing head bolts, but this relates to having recently redone the head gasket and retorquing after a few hundred miles as a final step.
Do not retorque the bolts otherwise, as you risk compromising the seal that's been long established by now.
If you were to retorque the head bolts, in theory you could reuse the existing bolts, but it's always better practice to replace them.
