It seems to drive kind of strange - sort of like driving a rubber band.
I'm used to driving my '86 9000 turbo, which has a 5 speed transmission, and the fairly aggressive first gear may not get a high top speed, but it gets you there pretty quickly.
In test driving this '90 9kt (it has about 140k miles on the clock), I'd go to pull out into traffic, hit the gas, and the car would sluggishly pick up speed for a few seconds before shooting off like a rocket.
Obviously, the turbo works. The question is, is this latency problem with the automatic transmission, the turbo timing/programming, or could it be something else more simple or serious?
My thought is, that if there's a reasonable chance that the fix is relatively simple (doesn't require the use of a lift or a transmission jack to fix), then I'll buy. If the consensus is that it might be the transmission, I may consider buying anyway and installing a 5 speed.
The other (less favorable) possibility is that '90 just might be a bum year for 9000's. What's the HP/torque ratings on the B202 for this year in comparison to others?
