HELP! Torx bolts seized and stripping on timing cover!

Anyone able to help me with advice? I'm doing my chains, and I've reached a frustrating impasse.
I've been advised to try the Hand Impact Wrench, and I'll hunt one of those down and try today. My fear, however, is that the head of the two Torx bolts may be too far stripped on the timing cover (one of these holds on serp. belt tensioner, one the alternator bracket).
I've used the correct torx bit, so the stripping is not related to the wrong bit size.
If nothing works, is it okay to drill these out in the timing cover, or will that drop metal grindings into the engine block?
If I DO have to drill out, anyone have advice on how to do THAT?
Help!
TIA
