9-5 has invasive traction control too.
If you've got faults in the system, they need to be properly found and fixed, and a 9-5 isn't going to be any cheaper to fix if and when it breaks than a 9000 is.
If you're just referring to the inability of front-wheel drive to get all the 2.3's torque to the ground, the 9-5 has exactly the same problem.
In a manual-transmission car, the partial fix is a switch to disable the TCS's wheelslip sensing. The real fix - as fixed as you can ever get with front-wheel drive - is a Quaife differential. Please note this is $1200 or so plus installation.
In an automatic car, there is really no fix at this point, I've pretty much figured out how to disable the traction control's wheelslip indication but it'll be a while until that turns into hardware.
