Most of the failure prone stuff has been replaced fairly recently:
Serp. Belt about 7-8K miles ago
Tensioner and idler pulleys about 20K miles ago
Water pump and front engine mounts about 5K miles ago
And of course the other normal wear and tear items - tires, fuel filter, coolant, brakes, battery, etc.
I'm not sure if this is a problem or not, but the Check Engine light comes on briefly (just a few seconds) after I start the car and it turns off. All of the warning lights in the EDU come on and go away after a few seconds, but the check engine light stays on for just a second or two longer before going away. Does this mean that there's a problem, or is that behavior normal?
While I'm new to all of this, I fully intend on babying my new car. I'll check the CV boots, and change the fan thermoswitch, the spark plugs and oil/filter next time I have access to a garage (about 2-3 weeks). Am I missing anything major?
Thanks!
