where it meets the head. Assuming, of course, that it's coolant.
-- Just replaced my head gasket. Head and block were level and did not require machining. In the process of placing the head down on the new gasket, I did rest it at an angle on the gasket before repositioning it into place
-- Only comes out of pipe on manifold that correlates to the #4 cylinder. Comes out right where the manifold meets the head.
-- After engine warms up, and metal expands, the liquid no longer seeps out.
-- Using SAAB red anticorrosive antifreeze.
-- Can't smell anything coming out of the exhaust. HOWEVER, I had a stuttering problem upon occasion. Replaced the plugs, gapped them at 1mm, still had problem. Have now replaced DI cassette (it was old), and no stuttering yet, but only replaced that last evening. Also, when I last changed my oil, there was a smell of gasoline in the oil. Could any of this be related to a breach in the new head gasket?
-- No white smoke coming out of exhaust, either.
-- I used the new head gasket design that tells you NOT to retorque after driving the car for approx. 1,000 miles. Would re-torquing be a good idea anyway?
Should I worry? Is it best not to drive the car until I sort this out?
Help! Thanks in advance...
