It's difficult to explain in writing about the adjusting procedure of kick down cable.

The motor is located behind and under engine on the fire wall.

One tip, the TCS book is still available from Saab. P/N 360461 $15.00
(maybe you should buy it and give it as a late Christmas gift to your mechanic?)lol

The lever of KDW motor should be pulled (toward right side of car) until it reaches it's mechanical stop. At the same time, the kick down cable should have reached it's mechanical stop in transmission (kick down).

If the cable can still pulled out a little bit further or if the mechanical stop of motor wasn't reached before the cable stopped it, the cable sheating has to be loosened by opening the 13mm nut on bracket and the sheating moved accordingly.

It's a very cumbersome procedure since the KDW motor lever wants to return to rest position and the cable wants to retract back into the transmission by the force of springs inside the tranny.

So holding the lever by one hand and tugging on the cable sheating with other while trying to turn the 13mm wrench (with your mouth) while having the head squeezed in between the fire wall and engine is a task only some mechanic can do.

It's much easier to tell the customer "it can't be done", just like they say about the calibration of the TCS.
