So it seems we ended up with the ScanTech guide (even though all our sprockets and the chains are OEM) and it is mostly metal. It did not seem to have any flex. We ended up using a collett type puller/slide hammer and pulled the pin. It was tight, but not too bad. Interestingly, there is a port in the hole that probably goes into the crankcase. That would allow oil in there. The pin did not seem to have any locktite on it. I'm curious if that is an acceptable thing to do or is the pin not meant to be pulled.
