Why do you think you need a new timing chain?

Is it just rattling a bit or are you having mechanical problems? A mechanic told me I needed a new timing chain when I bought my 88 9kT with 112k. Now 5 years later and at 171k miles it's still going strong. Yeah it rattles a bit, but I think they all do that. There are other things that cause noises other than the timing chain so if that's the problem let us know (or search the 9000 board).
I have a set of window regulators from a parts car I once had - I was keeping them as spares, but since I have four I might be persuaded to part with a couple (provided front and rears are interchangeable - not sure on that) - so let me know if you have trouble finding them for a reasonable price.
