It is so cold in New Jersey these days I am hibernating in my warm home. This morning I took care of the brake on the 94cs first. I am not that concerned about the brake as it shows no signs of uneven braking or pull. It'll wait until I come back to have the caliper replaced.
As for the Volvo, I removed the air mass meter and look inside. The sensor was clean, much to my disappointment. So I put it back. I also checked ignition timing. Although I know the timing cannot be adjusted, I did repaced the timing belt about a year ago. It was dead on my driveway last year in Feb. before the 18" snow strom. I finally found out it was the timing belt. See link below. I want to check it just to make sure timing is not off. Well, it is not. The timing is 13 to 14 degrees BTDC, a tad over the spec. of 12 degrees BTDC.
At this point I don't know what to do with the Volvo. I don't even know if it has EGR. I suspect it doesn't. My Volvo Haynes book doesn't tell me much. If it has EGR, I need to locate it and clean it or replace it. That's about all I can do. But I have receipt for this NOx remediation over $450 so I'll take it to the inspection station next week to claim the waiver before going out of town.
