Todd,
In response to your questions:
1. Yes, the verticle surface of theL bracket attached to the existing torx screw that is mounted on the back surface of the bumper.

2. The L bracket did come with two predrilled holes that I used.

3. Yes, the horizontal surface of the L bracket does face forward and does not rest on, but is just above the upper surface of the bumper. It is not necessary to drill any holes on the upper surface of the bumper.

4. The driving light assembly is then mounted to the hole on the forward facing surface of the L bracket. The only possible modification here is that you may have to use a hacksaw to cut off a portion of the mounting stud that goes into the hole in the L bracket, so the bottom portion of the stud does not make any contact with the horizontal surface of the bumper cover.

5. I used a mini hack saw to trim the plastic bumper cover. You will only be trimming a rectangular piece that is approximately 3/4 inch by 3/8 inch or so, so the portion that you have to trim off is really not very noticable, given that the L bracket will fill that area; so after the installation, it would be hard for anyone to realize that you trimmed off the piece of the cover.

6. As for the procedure to get the 9005 high beam bulb to fit the 9006 low beam socket, the procedure that Ben outlined in this thread is the way to do this.

Once you remove the grill on your 9000, and then peer behind the bumper the above instructions will become very easy to envision how this project can be accomplished in a fairly short period of time.

Good luck, and this mod to accomodate the Hella FF200 driving lights will make a huge improvement in the 9000s high beam visibility.
