In addition to my Stage 3 ECU from BSR, and the complete JT 3", I have a K&N air filter in the stock airbox. According to many posts here on this board, butchering the airbox and/or completely removing it gives negligible improvements, if any, in air delivery. In fact, some people reported it could pose problems with water entering the air intake system.

I installed a Hyperboost BPV from Stratmosphere, which is of the piston-style. This should more than suffice with the extra boost.

I've been dealing with the low-boost issue since last August, when I replaced my O2 sensor and fuel filter. Very long story, but the replacement O2 sensor was faulty, so I had to install another one. This one still wasn't right (I feel), so I put my original one back in. I am getting full-boost more often now, but still sporadic, and not pinned at the end of the red where it used to before putting those parts in the car. As soon as it touches 16 psi, it drops back to 10 psi. With the "new" O2 sensors, I would only stay at 5 psi (base boost), and very, very seldom hit 16 psi, but only for a second. I think this is all due to the fact that the original O2 sensor is shot, and I need one that works correctly.

I also have tried another known-good BPC with the same results. The last thing to do is to take out the new fuel filter and put another one in, thinking it might have something wrong with it (since both the new O2 sensors proved to be faulty). But I think the problem is related to the O2 sensor, and now I'm stuck with the 2nd replacement which is no good since it's been months when they sent it to me.

Other than that, I have no clue. I had pure adrenalized-boost the day before replacing the O2 sensor and fuel filter, and have been plagued with low-boost (base boost) ever after.

My question about the FPR stems from the fact that I'm modifying my '93 900TC, and when tweaking the APC box, you're supposed to replace the 2.5 bar with a 3.0 bar. So I was wondering why this isn't the case when modifying the 9000 with Trionic. But I see it's because it already has a 3.0 bar FPR (which is very small in size compared to the 900 one!).

Are you enjoying the newly gained power? Now you'll need to upgrade the suspension, tires, install some gauges, etc... When the bug bites, it bites hard! Ask me how I know...

Joe
