talking about. Most of the check valves are T-shaped, at least those that commonly fail, i.e. three openings. There is one L-shaped at the bottom of the passenger side hood washer jet.
There really isn't any special instructions to replace them, just mark the hoses before you take them off and put the new one in the same way. The easiest to replace are the valves below the hood washer jets, you really can't mess those up and no harm would come to you or the car if you don't hook them up right the first time. You can unhook the hoses and try again.
The valve isn't directional on the two openings at the bottom (bottom as in when you lay the T-shaped valve with the round disc flat on a table), the one pointing up is the opening connect to the waher jet.
If you are talking about the valves by the washer bottle or the valves to the headlight wipers, then just make sure you mark or note the hoses to the valve.
You may have a small flow restrictor in the check valve by the waher bottole but I think this is true only for older models. If so, pull restrictor out from your old one and put it in the same opening of the new one, then put the new one in place.
You can buy these check valves from Saabnet sponsors, some are Saab dealers as well, if you want genuine Saab parts, then try http://www.genuinesaab.com (i.e. Taliferro Saab). You can also buy these at any auto stores.
If you are replacing the valves right below the hood, I would suggest buying both valves, i.e. a T and an L, with the hope that both springs in the check valves are similar in strength so the jets come out at about the same time when the system is pressurized.
