ebay) Winning an auction is like signing a contract. I bid on a old 7 series, and it was a nice car for little money, but the guy selling it wasn't the owner, and I declined to buy it. He said it was his brother's and he had a power of attorney. I asked him to show it to me and he didn't have it in his apartment, seemed very shady, so I walked. About a month later I got a summons for small claims court. We both wanted to go before an arbitraitor, as it is cheaper and takes only an hour or so. So we get there and this guy blantantly lies and said I stormed out before he could get the power attorney to show to me. The document he had that dayf looked like a fake, and I think was a photo copy, and one of the signatures was written in block printing, which peaked the arbitraitor's interest. (The seller was a lowlife and when I was at his place he had done nothing in regards to selling the car, i.e., no bill of sale, no clue of what he needed, and he was going to represent himself as his brother.) Anyway the guy had it worded on eBay that he would get 1500 bucks if I backed out of the deal on the car, and I was nervous that I would be out 1500 and nothing to show, it was all in the hands of the arbitraitor. So the verdict gets mailed home to you, you don't find out at the court. Turns out the arbitraitor agreed with me and I had to give this scumbag 100 bucks for listing fees and his trouble, another of life's lessons paid for by me. The moral of the story is, if you bid on eBay, be prepared to buy it. If it is falsely represented then I agree you can probably get out of it, but omitting information is not false representation. If the car lacks a carpet, but didn't mention the carpet problem, too bad for you. If you are going to buy an eBay car, treat it as any other used car. Go see it, drive it and have a shop check it out, unless it is dealer warranteed car, but you should still see it, and drive it. Then at least you will have a better idea of what you are getting for your money. Trust me, dealers aren't losing any money buy using eBay, they get at least their minimum price, but usually more. Also used car dealers can be pretty shady in person, so imagine how shady they can be on the internet. Live by the phrase Caveat Emptor (buyer beware) when you are bidding on a car on eBay. Not to say you can't get a good deal and a good car, as that is possible as long as you are diligent. Sorry this is so long, but I hope it helps.
