Hello everyone!
You'll all be happy to know that my new engine is F I N A L L Y installed in my 1990 9000 turbo, and it's running... not WELL, but running... and i'm driving it...
I've put my first 300 miles on it and just got it's break in oil change...
The dealership that installed the engine never went into great detail about what was REALLY wrong with the car, they stuck to their original story about the computers being faulty... and one of them still is...
The check engine light was one when i got the car back from them, but since the cat converter was rusty and leaking, and in need of replacing (which is happening friday at a DIFFERENT saab shop;) i figured it was just the o2 sensor, because everything seemed to be working fine...
They had installed a STOCK di/apc unit to get the car running, as the origional di/apc with my MAPTUN chip had been declared "broken"... I plugged it in myself just to make sure, and just like they said, car no start...
so i swapped the good maptun chip in my broken di for the stock one in the working di, and car start! YAY!
the origional ECU with the matching maptun chip is still in the car too...
and the swapping of the chip made a HUGE difference...
ANYWAYS>
problem is... car seems a little on the sluggish side, no pushing past 300 miles on new engine... And the check engine light is still on...
i had them tech 2 it at the dealership after much complaining, and they said it was code 60001... and also that he cannot "talk" to the LH unit to reset the codes...
so something is still fishy, but i'm glad the car is running... I'm taking it somewhere else when i get the time...
i'll be updating my website VERY soon with all the pictures of my new installed gear which includes:
short shifter, euro spec headlights and clear corners, rear decor panel, autometer boost gauge where clock used to be (looks awesome)
so anyone know what that code is? should i buy a known working di/apc from someone?
thanks
-gavin
