What the setting is and how the adjustment is being made. For example, when adjusting Fade, it will say "Fade" (I think) and then will say 00 if the setting is equal from front to back. When you hit -, it will say R01, R02, R03, etc. to denote that you are changing the fade to the rear speakers. The same goes for balance, except it is left to right. That eq button should also show other changes on the display, such as the bass, treble, and equalizer setting (flat, jazz, rock, etc). What exactly do you mean by the "Ecco" noise?? It sounds like that headunit if a little effed up. Did you try popping out the HU and spraying some compressed air around the plugs?
