about a year ago. I gave tips and things I encountered, including having the boss welded onto the pipe after the cat (you don't weld it into the cat!).

Only change is that Engstrom (site sponsor) now offers the 3" cat for $99, which is around the cheapest price you'll find one at.

Difference between a race cat and a high-flow cat (both are 3"): race cat uses plates for the catlyst, whereas high-flow uses pellets. Race cat is much more expensive.

No need to be concerned with the length of the cat since you get an extension pipe with the exhaust kit to take up the slack when connecting the cat to the intermediate/long pipe.

You already have metal brackets attached to the underside of the car where the cat will now reside. You only need to purchase rubber hangers (preferably from the dealer: they last much longer than anyone else's!). I had to purchase an aftermarket one that was much longer than stock to be able to reach one of the brackets. You'll see what I mean.

One thing to add to my old post is to install the system LOOSELY, then check for the amount of tailpipe sticking out from under the bumper. You will want to shorten the curved pipe that goes over the rear axle so that the tailpipe tip sits perfectly under the bumper (mine extends slightly past it because I didn't do this, and annoys the hell out of me!).

Look for my post through the archives. It was quite informative!
