not enough room!

If you were to install the boss/bung into the cat, it would have to go into the top (no clearance for the sensor to fit in), or into the bottom (drving over bumps would damage the sensor).

Installing it into the pipe immediately after the cat allows the sensor to sit perpendicular to the pipe (aka, facing the passenger door, slightly tilted up to give it more ground clearance).

Also, keep in mind these JT systems are hand-made (hammered). Each one is different. Hence why MikeC's tailpipe sits perfectly under the bumper without any modifications, and mine (as well as other's) sits under the bumper, but does extend out further than stock (annoying).

The Trionic system will work fine with the cat being under the cabin as opposed to the engine. Being under the engine allowed the cat for quicker heat-up time to process exhaust gases faster (also made the stock dp cost much more $$ than older style since it incorporated the cat).

I also learned from this bb (I forget who posted it) that the 2nd O2 sensor is not used for the ECU to adjust anything by comparing its values to the primary O2 sensor (as many of us think), but rather it is used as a baseline figure, so that its value should always be the same.

BTW: I'm not too fond of the rubber hangers from eEuroparts. On my 9000, as well as my bro's 900, the rubber hangers we purchased from them dry-rotted and broke apart within 6 months! He lost his new exhaust system on the highway (all hangers were purchase from them), and I lost one of the hangers (the only one I had purchased from them, the rest were Saab) that was holding up the rear muffler in my driveway. Again, the supplier of rubber parts they use may not be up to snuff (I had an issue with their dogbone engine mount bushing--see recent post). But they're still great with all their other parts and prices and service!!!!!
