I only spoke about the front-end being out of specs (as well as the camber kit that you found at NAPA--I got mine off of an eBay supplier that actually cost the same price inc. the special bolts for both sides), but here are the values for the rear:
Specified range: -0.8 to -0.3 degrees
Left: -0.3
Right: -0.3
I am actually more concerned about toe:
Specified range: 0.07 to 0.28 degrees
Left: 0.08
Right: 0.20
I am at/close-to the max for both sides, but on opposite ends of the range. Supposedly, the dealer is able to install shims behind the rear hub to correct rear-toe. Is this a concern?
I assumed out-of-specs camber to be attributed to bent and/or worn suspension parts. What about the use of poly bushings in various suspension components? Does this play a part in the alignment process? I have them in front and rear, so I wonder about this.
Also, although the consensus is that oem Saab Boge-Sachs shocks/struts last forever, is this based on fact or just opinion? All previous cars I ever owned always needed to have shocks and/or struts replaced due to fatigue. Why not these? Mine are at 74K, and the ones in my 900 are at 126K (and I really think the 900 ones need replacing).
And the '98 does have Aero suspension, so if this plays into the specs, it should be mentioned to the shop to use specs for a '97 Aero.
