I've been looking around here for information, but I'm having trouble finding anything specific to my situation. I'm thinking about buying a 1991 9000 S 4-door hatchback with 68,000 miles on it. I haven't seen it yet, but apparently it's in good condition.
I'm not a car guy. As a matter of fact, I haven't owned a car since 1993. Now I'm in the market for a >$3k car that I can park on the street (in brooklyn) without worrying too much about it. I also want a car that I'm not going to sink a ton of money into to keep running.
I hope you all won't mind me asking what might seem to be very naive questions:
Are Saabs - and this model in particular - generally reliable? Are they expensive to maintain? Are parts easy to come by and affordable?
My first thought, really, was to just get a honda or toyota or something like that...but I there's something abotu Saabs that I really like, so I thought I'd look into this a little further. If anyone can suggest some good background information sources, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks in advance!
iain
