The pressure itself might not have damaged anything, but the new fresh fluid could have?
It all depends on how old the brake master cylinder is and how dirty the old fluid was?
Pushing new fluid through a system can always wreck havoc with an old master cyl and kill seals all over.
The easy answer though could be that you still have an air bubble somewhere.
