1988 9000T, ~300,000km, nearly all these kms on synthetic oil
not sure if I recommend doing this job with a cherry piker lift, as I had to be a contortionist for a few moves. Lots and lots of bolts of different sized. I recommend marking them and noting them on a piece of paper.
The old rubber-turn plastic from the old chain guides was stuck to the pick-up screen, and two pieces (one almost an inch long) floting near the screen. Obviously the pieces stuck to the screen have lowered my oil pressure, and depending on the power of the suction, those other pieces were getting pressed against the screen. In the last few weeks I was seeing about 10psi idle hot oil pressure, lower than years past, all while having a super performing and quite car. Other then that some varnish on non moving parts---to be expected.
Big positive ----Honing marks are still visible from under the car...somehwat polished where the rings 'contact', but hte marks are clearly visible!
anyway, the hell will insue when I have to put it back together.
just though I would share my adventure for the day
