You'll see and get many negative responses. The ZF tranny in the 9000 is a highly debated issue here. For many, it has been unreliable and not lasted past or even to the 100k mile mark. However, some have racked up over 200k miles with no problem and still have them running strong. It all depends how the tranny was cared for: religous fluid changes, no jackrabbit starts or full throttle shifts, etc. Mine has about 130k miles and is still awesome. I find it to be one of the better shifting trannies than in many other cars I've driven/had. When you take one for a test drive, make sure there is absolutely no slippage and that the shifts are very gentle, almost imperceptable. If you notice any hard shifts, move on or prepare to spend around $2000 for a rebuild or replacement. Also, check the condition of the fluid; if its dirty, suspect poor care.
Hope this helps and good luck!!
