The nipple on my two '95 9ks look different than your's. Perhaps stripped or lost in past. Mine are a bit larger than the regular brake caliper nipples, but a hose will seal if held against it. Putting a hose inside this one will probably not work. I'd try to press a hose against it while bleeding. Any spillage should be flushed with lots of water.

Don't know why your hose failed. They used to blow out in the rubber part like an aneruism, due to poor quality rubber used in early hoses. Thus the reason for Aeroguy's mod above.

I invested $45 in a motive bleeder- avail at their website(motive.com?) or some sponsors. It works great for bleeding clutches, and brakes. I used to have my indy do it every two yrs at $70 per. Times two Saabs, and I've already gotten several times my investment back on the first bleed. It is difficult to keep the brake resevoir full when bleeding manually, and air tends to get trapped. I and others have not had that problem with the Motive.

Some have used vacuum methods to bleed the clutch too.
