No vacuum = BIG leak

Peter, If it can't pull a vacuum, you should almost be able hear the gas hissing out. Wouldn't think it would last more than a day or so. On the other hand, when fully charged, it should work fine at least initially. That includes standing still. I presume that both A/C techs believed the high side/low side pressures to be correct? This gas is very inexpensive. You can buy a charge-it yourself hose (with low-side pressure guage) for under $15 and a can of gas for about $6 (12 ounces). If it isn't cooling very well, the right amount of gas is in it at the point the hose going into the evaporator suddenly gets cold. If this car never cools right, even when properly charged, there's something going on here other than a leak. A leaking car should go from cooling well to no cooling at all in a relatively short time. Once there is zero cooling, evacuation is recommended; not just adding gas. Still wonder about that "can't pull a vacuum" note.
