you replaced the ABS control unit, not the ETS/TCS module. Before doing anything further, I'd reset your cars various brains by disconnecting the battery, then try again. If your ABS light stays on, try swapping back to the original ABS ECU, reset again, and try again. If your ABS light extinguishes itself, then you got a bum rebuild on the ABS module, or perhaps an ECU for the wrong variant of ABS.
Before replacing the valves, a good try is to swap the valve located next to the battery on the driver's side front fender for the one at the firewall. Often one is bad but not the other, and they are the same valve, just with different mounting brackets.
As to your non-functioning cable, sounds like it's disconnected itself from the pedal. Have a look under the dashboard for that one.
