Depends on what you want as 'best'
The stock OEM hydraulic mounts provide the least vibration transmission. They are softer, allowing more engine movement. I guess they might not be as sturdy, but that would be #4 out of three on my hit list. The Townsend modification to limit mount travel should handle any longevity issues.
Solid rubber are cheap. Cheap is good. They also mean less engine movement. Poly provides the least engine movement.
OK - now comes my opinion piece-
Less engine movement will provide more precise shifting with a manual tranny, IF you do performance shifting - hard shifts under high acceleration. Noticeable? Some. I don't believe that it will provide any improvement with an automatic tranny. There may be some slight handling improvement, but it would only be evident if you have upgraded other suspension members.
Vibration - it depends on the engine. Some engines are smoother than others. I've seen stiff mounts provide minimial vibration on one car, and on the other (same year/model), the steering wheel looked like a paint shaker at idle. How will you know? Install them and find out.
Here's my take-
If your car is otherwise stock, go with the stock OEM hydraulic mounts. They will provide the smoothness one expects of a Saab. If you're really strapped for cash, put in solid mounts, but you run the risk of high vibration. It may be fine, it may not. But that's the downside of saving money.
If you've upgraded the suspension/performance of your car, then you've already made the decision to trade off comfort for performance. It's difficult to maintain the comfortable ride and get significantly improved handling. With stiffer springs and shocks, more controlled engine movement can only help. The assumption is that you're driving the car hard, so stiffer mounts are good. If the engine is putting out more power, stiffer mounts will help. You would also have demonstrated the willingness to try something and see the results - namely, you might stick poly mounts in and find the vibration really bad - if so, take them out. Yes, that's twice the work and cost, but performance doesn't come cheap.
Just putting stiffer mounts into an otherwise stock car will provide minimal advantage, and you run the risk of high vibration. Not a guarantee. But you should be willing to live with the result, or willing to pull them out and stick in softer ones.
