as 200 bhp CSEs, and had the same ECU!
Anyway, I have to admit that I gave my CSE the "snip" about a month ago and the effect is amazing (though I'm lacking all the special stuff Joe98 has on his car, of course). Boost goes up to the end of the yellow-and-red sector quite reliably. Only drawbacks are a slightly lower idle when in gear (doesn't really signify) and occasional unexpected downshifts on light throttle openings. You just have to massage the pedal for lots of power. I give the gearbox as easy a ride as I can and don't need to use kickdown.
Having said that, I have some slight fluctuations in the power delivery and I plan to put in new, carefully-gapped plugs at the weekend since these seem the likely culprits.
