Question about the ac anti-frost switch on my '97 9Kcse

On hot, humid days, the ac in my '97 9K cse begins cold then turns to ambient after a few minutes (it worked great last year!) My Saab tech thinks the anti-frost switch is "bad", and they are currently back-ordered for several weeks (Saab pn 45 42 973.) We're talking about the "thermo contact" on top of the evaporator on the SEIKO-SEIKI system. He adjusted it one full turn in the "warmer" direction, but I still have the same problem. Although there are a host of other possible causes (inadequate charge, plugged evaporator drains, inadequate gap on the compressor clutch, etc.), can anyone tell me exactly what this "anti-frost" switch is supposed to do in this circuit (i.e., whether the contacts open or close at x degrees, causing x to happen)? That way I can test it correctly and possibly eliminate it from the suspect list. Your help is greatly appreciated!
