Here are links to past posts of mine on this topic. I collected other 9K owners' suspension band colors, notably those owning '98's and/or '97 Aero's. Seems that the color bands on the '98 match those as found on the '97 Aero:

This one shows all the #'s on my front dampers/struts. Don't pay attention to Traffic Shark's front color bands as he misquoted RED for ORANGE (must be color-blind :-) ). My damper #'s match that as is on a '97 Aero. Also, I had forgotten one of the color bands on my rear shocks within this post, so ignore that (I later posted a corrected addendum with my rear colors and they do match a '97 Aero):

So, according to what other's have provided me, it seems the '98 does have Aero suspension.
