The ACC is the automatic climate control. Do you mean the AC isn't working right? Not blowing cold?

It might be the compressor, but it can also be a host of other things. First, does the can have ACC, or are the controls manual? That info helps a lot. Do you get no cold, or it just doesn't run as cold as in the past?

Open the hood, and look at the compressor. The outside of the pulley will be turning - that's got the belt on it. When the AC clutch pulls in, the center of the pulley will turn. Normally it should pull in for 20-30 seconds, then drop out for a bit. If it never pulls in, it could be a bad clutch, a bad wire to the clutch, dirty contacts on the AC compressor relay, or simply a bad switch (if manual controls). It can also be a number of interlocks.

If it does pull in, then drop out quickly, you could be low on R-12. There is a switch to kick the system off if the pressure is too low. When the compressor is running, the fat hose from the compressor should be cold, the thin one hot. If that happens, the compressor is working.

The other possibility is the compressor is working fine, but you're still getting hot air. The 9000 uses a mixing flap to mix outside air pulled over the AC evaporator with hot air from the heater core. If that flap isn't in the right position, you'll get hot air, no matter how hard the AC works. This can be from a few reasons.

Most common is that the arm on the mixing flap breaks. Then the flap falls one way or another - usually hot in summer, cold in winter. Go figure. Check the archives on Mixing or Flap for more info. If you have an ACC system, the servo for the ACC that controls the mixing flap may be dead. Run self test to find out. Note that the self test only determines if the servo moves - the linkage on the servo could have been eaten by snakes and the self -test won't detect it.

Lastly, I assume the cabin fan is working. If the fan doesn't blow, you won't feel cold. Fan failures aren't uncommon. That can be due either to a bad fan, or a bad fan controller - a transistor in the case of ACC systems, a resistor pack for manual systems. You'll get blowing air only on HI. But with a manual system, the AC won't kick in.
