EDU "Err" reset. Posted by Gene N [Email] ![]() ![]() ![]() |
The car is a 1991 9000 Turbo. I was getting erratic outside temperature indications on the EDU (the information display under the speedometer), so I removed the temperature sensor under the bumper and cleaned the contacts. Putting it back in I managed to break the wire without realizing it, and the EDU displayed "Err" the temperature shown was below zero. I took the connector apart and repaired it. Now the temperature reading is correct, but the EDU displays "Err" until I press the Info button or start moving the car. Everything else works fine.
I disconnected the battery for a minute, but that did not reset the error. I did a search of the board, and someone suggested that you needed a Tech 2 session to clear the error. Is this the only way? Do I need to leave the battery disconnected for a longer period of time, or is the error stored in non-volile memory somewhere?
Thanks.
