accidently. When replacing the blower motor, I had left the insulation in the trunk of the car while re-installing everything. I had problems in winter with the heater being noisy, but since it has warmed up, the noise is gone, so I hope it stays like that this winter. I haven't noticed any problems with the system not heating or cooling as well with this removed. I think that you are correct in this being the problem, when you rebuilt your blower motor, the insulation most likely ended up hitting the blower a little and has now started to break apart. Good luck, I swore to myself that I would never mess with the heater core or blower motor again because it was so frustrating.
