Hi Noel,

Yes! I actually just got it done yesterday evening with the help of a friend. Nothing at all was working from hangers to fingers to yanking on the seat. The way I was finally able to get to it was to lift the leather from the side of the seat and while a friend pulled it up as high as he could I was able to see the lever that was the release. I shined used a extremely long flathead screw driver and managed to lift the edge of the lever that the strap would normally have pulled up. Today I went to a junk yard and bought a new locking mechanism with the strap and put that on the seat. The broken one without the strap can even be repaired to use as a spare.

It was actuially pretty simple once I had help because I had looked in the seat before without help and I could't get the leather up high enough to see inside. I also wasn't using a bright enough flashlight the first time I tried.

That for your help and most of all check to see how I made out. I'm actually just coming in from changing the rear 6x9's and the stereo even sounds so much better without changing the head unit. I just bought the car and I've made a log of little changes that has made the car 100% better than the way I bought it. It was nice before but its really nice now with a new headliner and back panels I installed. I also changed the black dash and put in the wooden dash and console. Today I fixed the seat and changed the speakers. Unless I change the head unit I am probably finished although I'd love to have 16's on there. :-)
