I ended up bypassing the heater core entirely by connecting the coolant hoses together outside of the aquarium. I was in no financial or DIY position to pull the blower box at the time and I had only heated air and 90deg outside temps. The motor would still move the arm but the shaft broke inside I suppose. -AMG
