Did some research, made a few phone calls, then decided that BSR was one of the companies that would keep the ride more civilized. I spoke with Bo Engstrom, and he had a lot of information on BSR's way of remapping ECU's. Seems there are/were a couple of engineers there from Saab of Sweden. My next choice would have been SQR, since they had a way of squeezing out a little more torque and hp, but the ride would have become more unpredictable.

When I purchased the ECU, I was new to the world of tweaking Saab's, though I've owned them for many years. I jumped in gung-ho, installing the ECU, JT 3" exhaust, modified air delivery, and Hyperboost BPV all within 3 months.

Now that I've been doing this for awhile, I probably would have looked at other choices given the knowledge I have gained. I would have looked for more power even if the ride was not as smooth. Since I'm the only one to use this car, it's only me I would affect.

One other factor was that I have an auto, so I needed to ensure that the re-mapped ECU would not harm it. Granted, I had just had the tranny replaced at the time (old one only had 50K miles on it), so it was "new". But now that I know more, a little extra power would not have been so bad.

Supposedly, this ECU gives 247hp/380Nm torque. Personally, I think it does more than that. It definitely feels like more, especially when I surprise myself by leaving behind other vehicles with higher power.

I have no regrets. Am extremely pleased with it. It consistently puts out 16 - 20psi of boost when punching it (depends upon the weather). One thing I would like to work on is the turbo lag. The T25 gives less lag than the TD04, and this ECU was supposed to have eliminated it altogether. I actually have more than when it was stock.
