I completely agree with George. Just recently I took a chance, and won the bidding for a 1992 saab 9000 turbo on E-Bay. It looked amazing and was guarenteed by the seller it was in perfect mechanical shape... TCS problems will cause quite a bit of heart break! It could be as simple as a check valve within a vacuume line system or a whole new Throttle body and ETS ECU. After already putting $1,951 worth of work into my 9000 because of basic tranny repairs (clutch, master, slave and clutch hose, and some other small misc.) I'm in search of a used ETS ECU myself. Next will be the motor mounts as george also pointed out. Boooooo. However, if you have the extra money to fix what needs to be done, the '91 - '92 9000 turbos are the best years in the classic 9000 Era and implament one hell of an ignition system and will run forever. The 2.3L Mitsu-Td04 turbocharged 200hp 238ftlb engine is a blast to drive. If you're really serious about picking up this engine in this 9000t trim, I'd save the hassle, heartbreak and money, and search for a '91 rather than the '92. The '91's did not come with the Traction Conrtol System. It's all about how much of a risk taker you are. Personally, I just had to have that 2.3t!! haha http://www.geocities.com/banpearce16/saab.html. Good Luck with the inspection!! I hope all goes smooth.
