A couple years ago I bought a 92 9000S non-turbo for $2200. 130,000 miles. You might be able to go lower than $2K. Southern CT/NY line. Only issue at the time was Cruise Control, which $500 later (control module and switch), worked intermittently until passing into history.
Mufflers & central exhaust cost me $180 I think in parts on internet, and a couple hours labor my local mechs here in FL (who overcharged me by an hour - I had the same job done to my 90 9000 in an hour by different mechs in MA).
AC can be expensive, and you might want it. My 90 has a new compressor and the AC doesn't work still, I live without it, but passengers have complained on hot days.
Your new clutch is a bonus, as you could by another old 9000 for the price of a clutch job. I've talked at length with saab mechs about turbos, and they say they actually fail rarely. Seems I read about a lot of them sporting new turbo repairs though. $500-$700 risk?
I would bargain the guy down to $1500, antenna I replaced, I think from ebay or online for $30 or $40 bucks. Keep the savings in the bank for the AC if you need it.
A friend of mine recently sold his 88 9000 for $1200, I think, 140K, nothing wrong with it, beautiful paint, couple spots of rust, and sagging headliner.
check http://www.bargainnews.com for comparisons in NY/CT.
The upside is that these are fun, well-handling, versatile, refrigerator toting cars that have easily available parts online with free shipping at a great discount. find yourself a reasonable mech, and you could have the car for another 10 years.
Car shouldn't depreciate too, if you keep it up.
