Been there and hated every minute...

I installed Zimmerman cd rotors and PBR Deluxe pads in front and wished I had never done that. The amount of dust was annoying (which Deluxe's are not supposed to emit), the groaning noise that would eminate from the cd rotors was embarrassing, and the brake fade following a hard stop was frightening.
I replaced the whole combination after 10K miles and found that the pads were eaten down to the metal backing. The holes in the rotors were chewing into the pad material, causing the dust and premature wear.
I now have Brembo flat faced rotors and Axxis pads (MM's or semi-metallic, don't know which since they were not in the original box when I bought them off eBay). What an awesome set-up!!!! Sure, the first stop in the the morning is not ideal, so I always do a preliminary stop when leaving my neighborhood, but after that, better make sure you are sitting far enough away from the windshield. I am able to "stop on a dime" when needed, and there are no signs of brake fade, hard pedal pushing, smell, sound, etc. These are truly higher-performing pads/rotors, and am extremely pleased with them.
The downside to ths set-up is that I do have brake dust (not as much as oem), and I noticed slight grooves in the rotors after approx. 4K miles worth of use. I'll live with that.
Now I have to get the same set-up in the rears since the tail tends to slide out slightly when braking hard due to the fact that the used, oem set-up cannot keep up with the better-performing fronts.
