My large red relay finally failed and I had to replace it.
It didn't have a burned leg, but after opening it up to possibly check and resolder internal connections I noticed a pimple on one of the relay contacts.
I do remember for awhile hearing what sounded like rapid relay connections (clicks) and didn't know what was causing it.
After checking the large relay, I also took out the smaller orange (lamp control) relay and opened it up to check solder connections. Here I found gross solder cracks where the legs make a 90 degree connection to the PCB board. I resoldered all of those.
Haven't had any problems since. I wonder if the questionable connections from the orange lamp control relay were causing the headlight relay to cycle and burn the actual relay contacts?
My headlights use to turn on and off by themselves. With the headlight switch off, the high beam control arm would turn the headlights on. When I then turned the headlight switch to on it would turn off the headlights, pretty crazy huh.
