and you would do all kinds of exciting things with the extra 20 minutes you have to yourself, rather than sitting in a rest area sipping coffee/soda/ice water/whatever. Without a cupholder you don't even have a place to safely store capped bottles without jamming them in places they don't belong.

I am going to move to Europe and open a Starbucks or Tim Hortons, and offer cupholders in the accessory area in my store along with insulated travel mugs. I bet I would become a millionaire within 2 years.

I have owned 5 european cars to date, 4 japanese cars, 5 american cars. Only the Saabs, BMWs and yes even my MG Midget didn't have cupholders. In defense of the MG, it was an easy solution...you just enjoy your beverage while standing next to your broken down MG...thank you Lucas electronics!
Too bad there wasn't a refund on MGs like they offer on disposable aluminum cans. Just think of all of the recycling that could have been done with those MGs, rather than tossing them out on the side of the road.

PS: I don't eat in my car either. Sets a bad precedent for my kids, and there is such a thing as too many distractions.
