tires you could have gotten them locally at Belle tire or Discount or wherever. TireRack has good prices, but shipping them is really expensive.
If you feel compelled to purchase online, keep your eye on fleabay. There is always someone that sold their Saab this summer and forgot to give the new owner the 4 snows from their attic. I have seen MOUNTED snows with one season on thems sell for 100 for a set. SHipping 4 mounted tires should cost about $100. I paid $350 to have 4 new snows mounted on MY rims.
PS: Stay away from Bridgestone Blizzaks. I used to ride on Pirelli snows and LOVED them until I broke the belt in one of them. Of course in the winter time, nobody in town had them in stock so I let the dealer talk me into the Blizzzaks...they had a lot of them in stock..big mistake. They are noisier, they don't have as good of a grip for deep snow, AND the sidewalls are so soft that you have to run extra high pressure to keep the body roll to acceptable levels while cornering. I HATE MINE!
PS: I have a set of Bridgestone Bizzaks for sale cheap. They have 2 winters of light use on them and they are great tires...oh yeah, i already told you they sucked. nevermind.
